The Empire has a couple of brand new music videos, that will be coming your way very soon... you may already be aware of these if you check the blog. A DD/MM/YYYY video, and one for Bellewoods.

There is a good chance you are going to see the Bellewoods one first... and the DD/MM/YYYY one a bit later as someone may collab on it.

Digital Haircut is finally finished, after hours and hours of editing the video is complete!. I do not know how long you will have to wait, but hopefully not too much. But what I can do is share these frames from the video.








Now we begin to work on our next music video "kneel on the apron" by Bellewoods. I hope to have it complete within 30 days. Also don't forget one week from tonight is "My First Art Show" which has turned into my pre-birthday party so I hope a bunch of people can make it. Also the t-shirt party may or may not be happening this year, we are trying to figure out the right date so some great super awesome secret surprise bands can play, but we have had trouble finding a great venue. If you have any suggestions please let us know, but we had a great time last year at the Boat and might just end up there again.

It's always nice to share, and that is what we at the empire try to do most. So today I am sharing a really great music video that screened with the debut of our hit "have you ever dated a guy before?" at the Bloor Cinema last year. This was one of my favorite pieces from the festival and I am sure you'll enjoy it too. This video was created by Exploding Motor Car.

This Isnt a breakthrough in Video Editing or any sort of technological achievement, Its actually a very old technique, just with impecable implications, the treatment of this video must have been spot on, and they do a great job of making me enjoy the entire song and video. Favourite bit? the water dive.

The Empire will be embarking on several video projects, most of them being of the musical persuasion, very soon, in fact, THIS WEEK! It's videos like this that breaths new life into my creativity, its a reminder that you don't have to break the bank, or the process to make something wonderful. Kudos Oren Lavie (he has first director credits) its not often you see a good video directed by the artist.

so since we are in the music video business kind of, I thought it would be nice to share some that we enjoy, this will probably be an on going thing but probably not.



these videos are both by the singer from the band The Knife, this is her solo project, if you like these then check out the Knife as well, it is pretty similar



both the videos are directed by Martin de Thurah, who as you can see has quite a nice visual style.
